Your global sourcing specialist

Livingstone International is a global sourcing organisation specialising in the procurement of value-added apparel for distributors and clients based in the UK, Europe and North America.

Established in 2001, Livingstone’s international network encompasses offices and affiliates in China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Pakistan, UAE, Turkey and the USA along with its head office in the UK.

Through its international network Livingstone develops ‘best-fit’ solutions ensuring that products are delivered on time and to the quality standards expected in design briefs.

Minimum orders and lead-times

The minimum order or MOQ will vary depending on the product and the manufacturing facility and is advised on a project by project basis but our typical factory MOQs will generally start at 500 units per design/colourway.

Every project and product is different and lead times can vary from approximately 70 days to 150 days once an order is confirmed. Time will be required for pricing and sampling stages of development before an order can be confirmed.

Stage 1 – Initial enquiry/quotation

Information required includes the product details such as product type and design, fabric requirements, quantities and sizes. This information is sent to Livingstone’s factories which will advise initial costings, minimum order quantities and lead-times.

As the team deals with multiple factories around the world, more than one option may be given for a client to review and select.

Stage 2 – Sampling

The initial sample is for the client to approve the design and artwork. If the team is pantone matching colours then lab-dips will be provided for the client to approve along with any trim items such as buttons and zip pullers.

If the team is pantone matching colours then lab-dips will also be supplied. Once samples have been approved by the client the team can then move forward with the ordering process.

Stage 3 – Order confirmation and production

Final prices will be confirmed and a sales contract will be drafted confirming all relevant terms.

All lead times are initially quoted be sea-freight and prices supplied are fully delivered prices to a single address including factors such as shipping and customs clearance.

If the client requires all or part of the order delivered by air-freight then quotations can be provided.

Pre-Production samples will be supplied to the client once all approved fabric and trims have been received at the factory for final approval.

Stage 4 – Shipping and delivery

On completion of production Livingstone International staff will carry out a final inspection to international AQL standards and approve the goods to be shipped. There is an industry standard tolerance of +/- 5% on the amount of goods ordered and the amount of goods shipped. Full packing lists will be provided.

Once the goods have shipped an estimated date of delivery will be advised. Goods will be delivered under plain cover and will have no mention of Livingstone International on any paperwork or packaging.

Use Livingstone International as an extension of your own purchasing department and let us open the world of sourcing to you.
