What’s New: Global Print Solutions

Global Print Solutions is a leading supplier to the transfer printing industry. From its premises in South Yorkshire it supplies not only to the UK market but across the globe. It is fair to say that GPS is looking different at the end of 2020 than it did at the beginning.

Having worked with MagnaColours on the development of its water-based transfer inks Global Print Solutions is excited to be appointed as the sole UK and Ireland distributor.

The MagnaTrans inks offer a high stretch finish, soft feel and washability. MagnaTrans water-based inks are suitable for both traditional screen-printed transfers or digital transfer printing systems.
GPS now carries the full range of inks and is on hand to help with any technical or training support you may require.

Helen Parry, MD at MagnaColours, explains why she partnered with GPS: ”Their position within the transfer industry made Global Print Solutions an ideal distributor for our inks.”

It is fair to say that 2020 has seen challenges across the industry. Following the national lockdown and the introduction of social distancing, there has been a dramatic reduction in events, concerts, sporting fixtures and theatre performances. The knock-on effect to the bespoke apparel and merchandising manufacturing has seen a lot of GPS’ customers diversify and expand into new markets.

The GPS 3 stage Bureau Service supports GPS’ clients while they develop the appropriate skills.

Stage 1

From supplied artwork, GPS can produce completed transfers on behalf of trade only clients. Supporting this service, the team can also provide a pressing facility. This allows businesses to expand into the transfer market with no capital investment.

Stage 2

GPS produces and supplies back to clients the printed digital sheet along with the positive film, clients then produce the screens and back the transfers up with the MagnaTrans ink/ adhesive. As clients develop their skills and expertise, this stage helps them to migrate production in house without having to invest in digital equipment.

Stage 3

As GPS’ clients evolve into a full transfer production facility, the support does not end. The team then advise and supply equipment from a range of manufacturers. With the supply of the equipment, GPS offers an extensive training and support package enabling clients to develop their internal workforce and production.

The Bureau service has supported a lot of GPS’ trade only customers through these challenging times, GPS recognises that you can’t have a one size fits all. Whatever the client’s requirement, GPS’ dedicated customer services team works closely with them to ensure they receive a first first-class product and service.

2020 has also seen GPS increase its equipment offering substantially – besides becoming the sole UK and Ireland distributor for the MagnaTrans water-based inks.

GPS has become the UK distributor for an exciting fully automatic camera registration screen printing machine. The GPS-500 is capable of printing 500 sheets per hour at 700x500mm.

Complementing the GPS-500 is the GPS-all-in-one, a new continuous feed machine bringing inkjet technology to the transfer market in a single process. Besides its current Fuchs Heat Press distributorship, GPS is now firmly positioned to help companies across Europe improve efficiency and profitability.
