The very latest in digital production

M&R’s DS-4000 Digital Squeegee

Screen Print World offers the very latest in digital production with the M&R DS4000 hybrid.

M&R’s DS-4000 Digital Squeegee is setting the standard for hybrid printing. At production rates of 400+ prints per hour the DS-4000 bridges the gap between direct to garment printing and screen printing. Since the Digital Squeegee prints on top of a screen printed underbase a wide array of fabrics – including synthetic and performance blends – can now be printed digitally, opening the door to new market trends and cost-effective high-end digital textile imaging.

Dave Roper, managing director of SPW, explains further about this exciting new process.

“You are mixing the simplicity of screen print with digital printing, we are screen printing the white base on the dark shirt and not using the troublesome traditional digital white, this cleverly eliminates the need for a costly and timely pre-treatment, which also avoids heat pressing the shirt which as you know can damage the garment and leave an unsightly heat press marks.

“You can screen print the white onto a dark garment using a traditional screen print auto press and then dry it with a spot cure and then the clever bit kicks in , the garment moves to the DS4000 which is mounted in the same press and you digitally print your image on top of the dry screen print white, simples

“On average print costs are around 50-70% cheaper than traditional all digital prints.

“So, you can screen print and digital on the same shirt, it’s a win win in my world.”
