Following years of rapid growth textile print specialist T Shirt & Sons has embarked on an ambitious expansion plan, which began in June with the installation of the first two Kornit Avalanche 1000 printers in the UK.

T Shirt & Sons took its first steps into the digital garment printing sector when it installed its first Kornit Breeze direct to garment printer in 2010, shortly followed with a second Kornit Breeze machine.

Its B2B contract print service enjoyed rapid growth. Having this low volume print service also helped to bring in new contracts into its existing screen printing department. Continued digital growth resulted in an investment in its first Kornit twin pallet Storm machine in 2011 and followed up with a second Kornit Storm II machine in 2012.

Understanding the markets most suited to digital print and even more importantly, the processes and idiosyncrasies of digital print is what T Shirt & Sons believes to be the cause of such success and growth. The majority of new clients were specifically linked to e-commerce retail requiring large quantities of individual print output on single orders to be printed, packed and shipped to individual addresses.

The £500,000 investment in the two Kornit Avalanche 1000 printers is only the first part of T Shirt & Sons’ expansion as the company continues to meet growing demand and cope with associated contracts.

The Kornit printers were supplied by Adelco. For more information visit www.adelco.co.uk or call 01420 488388
