Roland DG launches upgrade programme for TrueVIS VG owners in EMEA region

TrueVIS users can now upgrade their printer/cutters with Roland’s TrueVIS Upgrade Programme

Roland DG has launched in EMEA of its TrueVIS VG Upgrade Programme, with current owners of VG-640 and VG-540 wide format printer/cutters being offered the opportunity to enjoy many of the latest, most advanced functions of the VG2 series on their current devices, via a simple conversion process.

The upgrade enables TrueVIS VG owners to make their printer/cutters compatible with the latest TR2 inks, the latest version of powerful VersaWorks 6 RIP software, enhanced print and cut functionalities, a range of other firmware upgrades and a new hardware option which deliver enhanced productivity and efficiency.

By converting their current devices, VG owners will gain access to several G2 advantages, including GREENGUARD Gold-certified TR2 ink compatibility, with the ability to laminate and then immediately finish prints in just six hours for true same day installation.

VG owners who convert their devices to TR2 ink will enjoy impressive ink savings of up to 20% and find the ink delivers outstanding results in demanding situations where adhesion and rub resistance are crucial. With up to 200% stretch, TR2 ink is ideal for applications such as vehicle wraps and also offers excellent wash resistance for customised apparel.

By converting their devices, VG owners will also see the richness and colour accuracy of their prints reach even higher levels, thanks to the combination of TR2 inks and the new ‘True Rich Color’ colour management preset.

With the upgrade, VG owners will also enjoy a host of new features to optimise print and cut accuracy and usability, plus a number of streamlined sequences to help speed up production. Compatibility with the advanced Roland DG Mobile Panel 2 app allows operators to perform even more functions from a smartphone or tablet, giving them greater flexibility and freedom.

After conversion, VG devices will also be compatible with the new TUC-4 optional media take-up system which supports two modes for improved take-up accuracy.

Paul Willems, head of business development and product management, Roland DG EMEA, said: “This is a great opportunity for current VG owners to quickly and easily boost the performance of their existing printer/cutters with many of the latest VG2 innovations, helping to give them the competitive edge and to provide the very best service for their customers. It’s another example of our commitment to helping our customers to get the very best return on their investment in Roland DG technology. The latest VG2 series is winning industry accolades and bringing great advantages to our customers, so we are delighted to offer VG users the opportunity to upgrade to so many of the VG2’s exceptional functions.”
