Managing director and CEO of Headwear UK has retired

Roddy Rutland, the managing director and CEO at Headwear UK for the last 17 years has chosen to retire this month.

He has been on annual leave since October 2016 following a period of family bereavement, health issues and pressures of life, however after much consideration has decided to retire.

He said: “I tried to retire back in October as my drive was waning and my health was not good, but my partners would not hear of it without giving me the opportunity to consider my position and recuperate.

“I took a three month sabbatical, where I have had time to recharge my batteries. As many of you know my health has not been the best in the past couple of years, and so I have decided to stop now and enjoy the things that are most important to me.

“Of course, this does not mean that I will be leaving Headwear altogether as I will remain a partner in the business for years to come, but I will be taking a much reduced part in day to day operations. It’s been a great journey for me, I’ve loved every minute of being part of our loyal customers’ businesses and would thank you all for your loyal and consistent support”

Senior partner and CEO of the Headwear Group, Peter Barblett, will continue to manage Headwear UK while a new CEO is sought.
