Resolute launches the Screen Mate

Small to medium size screen printers can now benefit from the direct to screen process at an affordable price. Screen Mate is ideal for textile printers using screens up to 1050x660mm from one to 50 screens a day.

Built from the ground up the Screen Mate is unique in the fact it is not a modified printer. The design, chassis, printing bar and electronics are all custom built. Final assembly of the Screen Mate is in the UK by Resolute Print Group, cartridges and electronics are manufactured by Resolute’s Italian partners Tricksy in Milan. This allows Resolute to create a unique system at an affordable price matched nowhere else in the UK.

The Screen Mate utilises thermal print head technology making it practically zero maintenance.

How does Screen Mate work?

When used to make a screen the need for film positives is eliminated. This method of producing a screen allows you to use your existing frames, mesh and in most cases the same emulsion. Before imaging a screen, Screen Mate scans the surface with a laser automatically setting the height to the optimum distance for high quality imaging. A drum is used to ensure the mesh is perfectly level with a constant flat surface, this generates better halftones.

Making screens has never been easier, with no glass or vacuum bed needed exposure can be from any UV light source you choose, as long as the light source is compatible with the emulsion. With no chance of dust or foreign matter being trapped under the film waste is kept to a minimum.

The Screen Mate has no ink tubes, no mechanical capping station and the print head is an integral part of the ink cartridge. This offers a very low maintenance system ideal for situations where a screen may not be produced for days on end. To shut the Screen Mate down simply remove the cartridge and place its cover on. When you are ready to make screens again simply scan it back in and you are ready to image screens instantly.
