At an annual event which celebrates the contribution that skills and learning make to businesses across Greater Manchester, Regatta was awarded the Large Business of the Year award, in association with Mantra Learning.

The Skills for Business Awards is now in its second year, with the winners spanning every aspect of business from construction to education.

Regatta’s group learning and development manager, Caron Wright, said: “When we found out we were nominated for the award we were all so excited, we are a family business which started from basically nothing and we have put a lot of work into our apprenticeships, so to have won is especially thrilling.

“Winning an award like this says a lot about the company and our investment both financially and with the time we have committed to providing these opportunities. We wanted to provide opportunities for career development, so apprentices know that there is a career for them here at Regatta. We have created training manuals with assessments and structured learning to help us achieve what we want to achieve.

“We’ve not done it alone though, Mantra have been absolutely fantastic and we’ve been so impressed with their support that we’ve recommended them to Aldi. Winning the award gives us credentials for our future work with apprentices as it is proof of our commitment to training and the hard work of our staff who are all extremely dedicated. I’m so enthusiastic about it; it’s been a lot of hard work every day and from everybody.”
