Presenting the latest textile solutions with expansion of Mimaki line-up

Mimaki’s printers can be used to create stunning prints on fabric

Mimaki has a long and illustrious history in textile printing, introducing its first wide format, direct to textile printer in the late 1990s. Its line-up has steadily grown in the subsequent years, resulting in a current range that offers something for everyone, as Brett Newman, chief operations manager at Mimaki’s UK and Irish distributor, Hybrid Services, outlines.

“From the entry level TS30 wide format dye sublimation printer to the incredible new Tiger-1800B MkII industrial textile printer, Mimaki has developed a textile-specific model to suit almost every need,” states Brett. “2019 saw ITMA’s four-year cycle come around again and Mimaki used the exhibition in Barcelona to present new technology, that adds further options for our textile customers to increase their productivity, target new markets and benefit from our latest solutions.”

With numerous direct to textile and dye sublimation models in its product range, Mimaki has solutions suited to both natural and man-made fabrics and the introduction of a range of fabric preparation and finishing kit means customers can benefit from a total solution for textile print production. At ITMA, Mimaki showed the TR300-1850C coating machine alongside its TR300-1850S steaming machine. Providing the equipment needed to operate the entire digital textile workflow, Mimaki’s all in one solution ensures complete technology compatibility, as well as increased productivity, print quality and reduced production costs.

Award winning

“We were delighted to receive not one, but two EDP awards for our textile solutions at FESPA this year,” Brett recalls. “While the impressive new Tiger MkII and our finishing solutions were recognised with awards, we also enjoyed a significant amount of interest in the new TS55-1800 sublimation printer that’s very relevant to the printwear and sports/ apparel sectors in the UK and Ireland.”

Designed to grow within the print business, the recently launched TS55 is an attractively priced, yet high performance sublimation printer that, when combined with Mimaki’s optional bulk ink system and its Mini Jumbo Roll unit enable the use of lower cost inks and media. Mimaki’s proprietary onboard ‘Core Technologies’ also facilitate the delivery of long print runs with minimal operator intervention – ensuring high output quality is maintained throughout.

“The TS55 is the ideal printer for sportswear and fashion companies to really make their mark, with short to medium run lengths handled with ease,” continues Brett. “Thanks to its relatively low cost to entry, competitively priced consumables and intuitive workflow, we’re seeing strong uptake with both established sublimation printing operations and companies new to the sector.”

All of the above mentioned models can be put through their paces at Hybrid’s showroom and with a network of specialist textile reseller partners around the country, customers can also arrange a local demonstration.

“Our partners offer expert textile knowledge and support and are perfectly placed to assist companies with their investment in Mimaki’s latest technology,” concludes Brett. “A demonstration either at Hybrid or with one of our partners is the ideal opportunity to invest in Mimaki textile print hardware for the first time or to add to existing systems.”
