M&R introduces its newest direct to garment digital printer

The M-Link X
The M-Link X

The combination of speed and quality makes M-Link X superior to direct to garment digital printers costing more than three times as much. M-Link X prints full-size images on white shirts in an amazing 30 to 45 seconds and full-size images on dark shirts in less than a minute.

M-Link’s phenomenal image quality is made possible by M&R’s proprietary i-Color RIP Software, exclusive Absolute Position Technology (APT), and DuPont Artistri BRITE digital textile inks. i-Color RIP quickly converts digital art files into printed images with maximum sharpness, superior shading and gradations, outstanding colour accuracy, and minimal print time. On black garments, Black Color Mode prevents M-Links from printing black ink on black image areas. On coloured garments, Highlight Mode allows M-Links to print a highlight white, but prevents them from laying down white underbase where CMYK will be printed. This saves ink and increases print speed, but the main benefit is images far superior to other direct-to-garment methods – and printed garments that are softer, more breathable, and much closer to water-based screen printing.

Print modes include conventional two-pass printing and OPEP (One-Pass Express Printing). OPEP delivers maximum speed by laying down both white and CYMK on a single pass. OPEP works by positioning the two white printheads ahead of the CYMK printheads. This results in excellent images at maximum print speed (on applicable artwork).

Geoff Baxter, director of M&R’s Digital Products Division, said: “M-Link X sets a new standard for speed, price, and image quality.

“It isn’t the only printer for high quality prints. And it isn’t the only high-speed printer. However, it is the only affordable high-quality, high-speed printer. M-Link X is an incredible value.”

The UK agent for M&R is Dave Roper.
