Embroidery on outerwear is always a problem. Many embroiderers will do the embroidery as normal and not treat this after production. Then when the customer wears the garment, they get wet in this area and become very unhappy customers.

ETC Supplies has developed two ranges of products that make your embroidery waterproof. Anyone who embroiders on outwear should always make the embroidery waterproof afterwards as standard procedure.

You have two options:

Option one is to use ETC’s Anti Wet Patches. These are easy to use, just simply heat press the Anti Wet Patch over the back of the embroidery once you have removed the backing. This will provide a barrier and stop the water coming through and into contact with the wearer.

Option two is to use one of ETC’s spray on waterproofing products. These are simple to use, just spray over the front of the embroidery and rub it in with your finger. Heat press or use a hair dryer to dry the solution so it enables it to cross link. That’s it. When dry the embroidery is waterproof and the water simply runs off the treated area.

By treating your embroidery in this way it will help prolong the embroidery life and keep it looking good.
