Make It British Live! attracts global interest

Make it British Live!, the only sourcing event that exclusively showcases British manufacturers and producers, is attracting global interest.

Taking place on May 29 and 30 at the iconic Business Design Centre in London’s Islington, registration numbers are already triple those of this time last year, with visitors expected to travel from as far afield as Dubai, Canada and China. The show has grown from 50 to over 200 exhibitors in the last six years, with visitor numbers topping 5,000 last year, representing at least 17 different countries between them.

Make it British Live! celebrates the very best of British manufacturing. This year’s exhibitors will highlight more diversity than previous years, including a broader range of accessories and homeware products. Among the new exhibitors for 2019 are Welsh woollen mill Melin Tregwynt and luxury home furnishings from Anta in Scotland.

Now in its sixth year, Kate Hills, founder of Make it British, said: “Our vision at the start was to encourage more people to buy British and make in the UK. Since we launched in 2014 we’ve brought together thousands of UK designers, manufacturers and buyers to inspire and guide businesses in their journey to support British craftsmanship and brand British.

“The move to the Business Design Centre presents a great opportunity for UK manufacturers to showcase what they do in a beautiful venue that is filled with natural light and steeped in history.  Our new home will help us to realise our ambitions of expanding the show into product areas other than just fashion and textiles, to keep up with the demand for local manufacturing post-Brexit.”
