Result welcomed the MP for Waveney, Peter Aldous to its new distribution centre in Beccles, Suffolk, in February.
Result recently moved its warehousing facilities to a new larger distribution centre to give the company 228,000sq ft of space from which to operate its expanding business. All Result Clothing, Headwear and SPIRO Activewear products are now held at the new 14.5 acre expansion-ready site, which can easily accommodate further business growth.
Keen to see the vast new facilities, Peter Aldous MP was taken on a tour of the distribution centre by Result managing director, David Sanders Smith.
Mr Sanders-Smith said: “We were delighted that our Conservative Member of Parliament Peter Aldous was able to fit in a visit to the new Result distribution centre in Beccles. Peter was able to see first-hand, goods produced in China being reloaded for Germany and France – our main two export markets.
“The visit gave us the opportunity to stress to him the importance of the UK remaining an EU member country and Peter, a pro-EU MP, acknowledged the contribution that our industry makes to Britain’s performance in the EU.”
In addition to providing much more space, the new distribution centre gives Result greater energy saving benefits from the fitted solar panels and a motion sensor lighting system, while investment in new systems and machinery provides economies in man power. The centre has a new conveyor system that speeds up container unloading and order dispatch to make stock movement more efficient, all new energy efficient VNA counterbalance forklifts, PPT and high reach fork trucks and an intelligent order picking system that uses finger swipe barcode scanners.
After only a short period of time Result is already reaping the benefits of the new centre. Quick order turnaround and having almost unlimited storage and distribution space means the company’s capacity and appetite for new products is no longer restricted by four walls.
