The School Pak
The School Pak

It’s time of year again where schoolwear specialists are planning what to stock for 2016.

The Schoolwear Show is known as the only place to network with the key suppliers in the schoolwear industry. The show this year takes place on October 11 to 13 at Cranmore Park in Solihull.

Nigel Plenderleith from Blue Max Banner and The Schoolwear Show says: “The organisers were delighted with the success of last year’s show and this year there will be more exhibitors than ever with more enquiries still ongoing.”

The show has grown in size once again. Last year 49 exhibitors attended the show and so far this year 52 exhibitors have confirmed their attendance, including many new names. Candy Bows, eTrader Websites, Makura Sport, Rap, Ricosta and Skids For Kids are all first time exhibitors, joining regulars such as Balmoral Knitwear, Gymphlex, Rowlinson Knitwear and William Turner.

Not only does the three-day show provide plenty of networking opportunities, but it provides the opportunity to see and touch new products available for the coming season. Previewed below are just a handful of some of the new products visitors can expect to see at the show.

Helix / Maped

Stationery specialists Helix and Maped have various new products out this year.

The Bunny Innovation pencil sharpener teaches children to sharpen pencils correctly. The product’s patented technology allows the bunny’s teeth to move up and down when the pencil is rotated clockwise.

New products including school handwriting pens have also been added to Helix’s famous Oxford range of stationery.

Chadwick Teamwear

This year is the third consecutive year that Chadwick Teamwear has exhibited at The Schoolwear Show. The performance sportswear supplier offers a 28 piece range of key school products with best sellers including baselayers, T shirts, polo shirts, rugby and training shorts, skorts, technical jackets and pants.

This summer Chadwick Teamwear launched several new products into the range including a quarter zip midlayer, a colour combination polo, thermal winter coat and girls leggings. All garments have subtle features which set them apart from more basic typical schoolwear garments.

Top To Toe

WOW Sync is the latest innovation from Top To Toe.

The mobile stock management system is easy to use with only a smartphone/tablet and a scanner needed, meaning users will be able to sync their stock and sales, keep an eye on their best and worst sellers, do mobile stock checks and track sales.

Marathon School Supplies

Not only will Marathon be exhibiting its full range of products at the show, it will also be showing two new products.

Marathon’s Performance Fabric has been upgraded to a new and improved TUFFlite version. The fabric now has an even higher density weave and the PVC backing has been replaced with a PU coating. The lighter weight fabric now means that Marathon’s Performance bags are now between 15% and 30% lighter.

The Schoolwear Show will see Marathon officially launch its new Performance backpack, the School Pak. The bag has been designed to carry A4 books and folders.

Regular exhibitor, TheMagicTouch, will be bringing a new product with them to The Schoolwear Show.

The new transfer paper WoW7.8 offers improved processing and increased printable product options. It can be used in conjunction with the TMT/Oki C711WT (colour and white-toner) LED printer and creates a real marketing opportunity for those involved in garment and promotional product decoration.

WoW7.8 can be used to print bags and satchels. TheMagicTouch will be doing live demonstrations of this innovative transfer paper.

eTrader Websites

First time exhibitor eTrader is hoping to meet plenty of potential new customers at the show.

The web design business will be bringing its custom built sites and latest web developments to the show. In recent months eTrader has launched several new upgrades for existing customers which focus on mobile and tablet friendly designs.

Managing director John Sheppard says: “We have worked incredibly hard recently to bring our customers some brand new developments based on some ideas from both ourselves and our customers, the focus is on improving both their user experience when running an eTrader website and their customers experience using their online site.”

So with plenty of new products on display The Schoolwear Show 2015 is one industry event that cannot be missed.
