J & B Sewing Machine Co is announced as a distributor for Brother’s new GTX DTG printer

The GTX

J & B Sewing Machine Co has been announced as a UK distributor for the all new Brother GTX direct to garment printer.

At a private viewing in Brother’s European Headquarters in Germany, J & B’s managing director and direct to garment specialist Robert Miller was mightily impressed with what he was shown.

Mr Miller, who has been selling Brother printers since their introduction in 2005 with the GT-541, believes that the new Brother GTX has taken a quantum leap forward.

He says: “Brother in Japan has spent many years developing and evolving their direct to garment printers to bring us to this point with the all new GTX. It is quieter, faster, has much lower maintenance requirements, and produces sharper, brighter and softer feel prints.

“Whether for short runs in the print on demand sector, or larger runs using a multiple machines installation, with the very short job set up time, the new Brother GTX printer is set to challenge the established methods and marketplace for t-shirt production.”

At the viewing, Mr Miller was really pleased that Brother has taken on board customer concerns regarding maintenance, and the new wet capping, circulating white ink system will ensure a trouble free ownership.

He adds: “I believe that the system Brother is using will answer all the issues that DTG users have had with blocked nozzles causing poor quality printing.”

Brother has also developed new inks. The Innobella Textile water-based inks are now supplied in pouches rather than large wasteful plastic cartridges. The pouches are fitted into reusable holders that utilise a roller system to ensure that cartridges that read empty really are empty. These inks are amazingly bright and give a fabulous print that is soft to the touch.

Operating at speeds up to three times that of the GT-381 and at 1,200dpi, the Brother GTX is the future of direct to garment printing now.
