William Turner & Son would like to thank all of its customers for continuing to support UK manufacturing for the company’s school ties.

Andy Smith, sales director said: “We have had a better than ever response to our ‘early bird’ offer in December, with many ‘back to school’ tie orders already made.

“The clip-on tie in particular proved very popular last year and we saw a significant increase in sales for both our stock and specially made clip-on ties.

“With the rise of Academies in the primary sector, the trend has definitely been to return to a more formal uniform style with blazers, v-necks and ties, and it has been interesting to see the increase in 12in and 14in junior sized clip-on tie orders.”

The clip-on tie is the most effective way of standardising the appearance of the tie when worn, hence its popularity.

All school ties need to stand up to the rigours of everyday school use, which is why William Turner uses a sturdy quality patented clip, which is used by the US Military and has a very low returns rate.

William Turner & Son manufactures its school ties and many other products in two wholly owned factories in Skipton and Colne.
