Gildan donates products in support of Louisiana flood victims

The state of Louisiana has been left in devastation after experiencing floods that have left over 30,000 families displaced. With the hope of providing help and comfort, Gildan Activewear  will donate clothing items including T shirts, underwear and socks to the victims of this natural disaster.

Under the company’s Gildan Gives program, Gildan has encouraged more than 2,600 of its employees in the United States to get involved and will match all monetary donations made towards the relief efforts.

The donation is being made to the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s office to support their efforts in distributing clothes to those in need. Eric Lehman, president, Branded Products, Gildan, said: “Our thoughts are with the residents of southeast Louisiana in the wake of this devastating event.

“Gildan is once again responding to a need for humanitarian aid in the regions where we operate and we hope that these basic items can help provide a small amount of comfort to the displaced individuals and families in Louisiana.”
