American Apparel was founded in 1989 as a retail company, before moving into the wholesale market in 1990 providing t-shirts for both screen printers and small companies. Today, American Apparel is known for being the only company that produces both retail and wholesale products under one brand.
What differentiates American Apparel in the wholesale industry?
When you buy American Apparel you are choosing the originator of fashion basics and supporting social responsibility and sustainable practices. American Apparel takes pride in developing garments of the utmost quality and colour vibrancy in a wide-array of styles. This is credited in large part to the professional skill and artistry of the company’s garment workers, who are the highest paid in the world.
American Apparel’s commitment to vertical integration ensures it designs, cuts, sews and ships its garments from Los Angeles, California—allowing it to have a smaller carbon footprint than its competitors. With manufacturing, distribution and creative under one roof, American Apparel visits its sewing facility daily because it works there.
As the largest clothing manufacturer in North America, American Apparel is unparalleled in the marketplace.
