Manchester-based fabric supplier FunkiFabrics has seen its bespoke printed products featured on Sunday night’s episode of I’m A Celeb after working on winners and losers costumes with expert costumier James Maciver.
The company worked with Mr Maciver on a brief from I’m A Celeb to produce a portcullis design for the winners and losers vests seen in the episode, which saw a boys team including athlete Mo Farah beat the girls in a typically gruesome challenge.
The base fabric was heavyweight recycled polyester, accompanied by matt nylon lycra – both fabrics are fish gut, offal and slime resistant, but FunkiFabrics always recommends a customer does their own thorough tests before using any materials in this kind of setting – and if there’s ever going to be a need for slime resistant fabrics it might be during 2020!
Helen Kaitiff, MD of FunkiFabrics, said: “We were delighted to tune into I’m a Celebrity and see our products on screen, and we loved working alongside James on this project. It’s always really special to work on a bespoke project, and it’s exciting to draw on our huge product range to work out the materials which best suit the needs of a client.”
