Balmoral Knitwear are launching fine-knit cotton-blend corporate knitwear at Printwear and Promotion LIVE. The new styles are made in the same fine-knit, fully-fashioned fabric as Balmoral’s well-received cotton-blend school knitwear range.
Corporate pullovers, slipovers and cardigans are available from stock in Black, Charcoal and Dark Midnight. School pullovers in cotton-blend are in stock in Black, Mid Grey and Mariner Blue.
For these and some of their other knitwear styles, Balmoral use Eastern European manufacturers as business partners to complement their own manufacturing in Scotland.
“Using only European manufacturers gives us – and our customers – confidence in a range of things: quality, delivery speed, and importantly that there will never be any headlines about poor or dangerous conditions for the workforce,” says Balmoral’s Mike Carden.
Balmoral and their partners can be extremely flexible and fast for bespoke knitwear. “From the UK, our lead-time is usually 4-6 weeks with a minimum of just 24,” says Mike. “From off-shore the lead-time is usually 6-8 weeks. Minimums off-shore vary according to the yarn and fabric, but for the cotton-blend, there is a minimum of just 48 for bespoke styles and colours.”
Balmoral Knitwear also have a stock service of knitwear for a wide range of markets – corporate, school, golf, bowls, promotions etc.
Corporate knitwear is doing extremely well for the company – their Teflon-treated 50% wool 50% acrylic and TPA 100% acrylic are benchmarks for quality. Balmoral stock a wide range of styles and have a large bespoke business supplying the corporate market.
Production of bespoke cricket sweaters in team colours has also boomed. “We have a minimum of just six for cricket sweaters made in team colours,” Mike says, “but just now there are orders for batches of hundreds going through the factory, both for larger clubs and for schools.”
Balmoral will also be showing jacquard knitting for promotional knitwear. “This is a growing side of our business,” Mike adds. “We are increasingly flexible as regards designs knitted into sweaters, or bespoke colours, or bespoke designs.”
