Embroider Buddy has arrived in Europe

Embroider Buddy’s story began when inventor Donna Kotzer-Jacobs joined the plush toy business her father Morris started in 1944 in Toronto. Servicing the gift, souvenir and specialty markets, Donna quickly realised embroiderers needed something more than only bear wear, they wanted a stuffed toy with a large area to embroider, and stuffing that could be removed and re-inserted quickly and easily.

She spent three years working and re-working prototypes and decided to create a ‘pillow pouch’ in the shape of the bear’s belly that can be inserted and removed easily.

And so, the Embroider Buddy was born. Its simple, innovative design makes embroidery as easy as 1-2-3!

1) Unzip the Embroider Buddy’s invisible zip and remove the pillow pouch.

2) Insert the hoop front or back and embroider.

3) Pop the pillow back in, zip up and you’re done!

The demand for the original Embroider Buddy bear was so strong that it wasn’t long until she started designing a line of embroidable stuffed animals and other plush products for embroiderers to create magic.

Early 2014 Menno Kaper from G&B realised that a safe and high quality stuffed cuddle for the embroider business was not available in Europe. He got in contact with Donna and they both soon realised that they share the passion for the Embroider Buddy.

Today G&B is the importer for Embroider Buddy’s in Europe and sells these directly to embroider companies in the UK.
