Dickies has opened entries for the UK Worker of the Year competition for those who work in the electrical, building and plumbing sectors.

The competition is now in its seventh year and has been organised by Dickies in association with Asda and Honda.

Entrants have the chance of winning £250,000, a Honda Jazz car, a Honda Crosstourer 1200cc motorbike, a Honda Marine Rib boat, a year’s free shopping at Asda, a luxury holiday – and that’s just for the winner!

There are more prizes on offer for runners-up.

Gary Barak, the event promoter, said: “This competition is to demonstrate pride in the British workforce, and is open to everyone, regardless of whether you work on the shop floor or are a CEO.”

The deadline for entries is 12pm on Monday, September 19.
