In an attempt to raise money for the Bristol Royal Infirmary Children’s Hospital, Richard King and Samantha Blandford from the Cotton Textile Company will be undergoing a 10,000 feet parachute jump above Cornwall on September 4.

Molly, Mr King’s daughter, was diagnosed with Auto Immune Encephalitis in August 2015 and was in in hospital for three months. Thankfully, she has now made a full recovery and would like to show her appreciation for the care she received from Bristol Royal Infirmary with the support of her family, by raising money and awareness.

Mr King said: “The team at BRI are amazing and have helped Molly make her recovery to the point where the day after the jump she will start attending Falmouth Marine School to study Marine Biology.

“It has some of the best facilities for children in the South West and is certainly a prime hospital for children with brain issues. We feel lucky that we had their support and help and want to do our bit to ensure that others can benefit as well, hence this insane idea of Molly’s to jump from a plane!”
