Global Print Solutions (GPS) has championed the use of the DST system in the UK over the past two years and this has seen a huge increase in the UK transfer market, especially with regard to promotional products, branded garments and sportswear.

DST for those who are still unaware is a method of utilising digital technology for the screen printing industry that allows for crystal clear images and provides the printer with the ability to produce smaller more diverse runs to adapt easily to client needs.

Slotting nicely into the existing stable of approved printers for use with the DST system is the Ricoh C5100S. This extends the choice of available hardware and provides a flexible, reliable and affordable solution to generating professional output every time. The Ricoh is the ideal choice to respond to the need for on demand marketing faced by so many of our customers in today’s dynamic printing environment. Its stand out features include high image quality and exceptional durability and that it produces high quality prints onto polyester liners.

The Ricoh is easy to use and affordable as it can be taken on lease rental with toner on a click charge. Companies can not only use it for the production of digital transfers but also as the business copier as it can double up to produce brochures and scan images.

GPS feels that the Ricoh printer fits nicely into the stable of approved printers for use with the DST system slotting in between the entry level OKI C910 and the Xerox 8080 and Indigo machines.

Ricoh has appointed Smart Print in the UK as agents to supply and provide the back up for the Ricoh when used for the DST transfer system. As the distributor for DST in the UK and Ireland, GPS will provide companies with the operator training and all necessary consumables to produce high quality transfers on many different products including:

  • Full colour designs onto branded and promotional garments.
  • Sportswear.
  • Back neck transfers including QR code transfers.
  • Non-woven bags.
  • Jute bags.
  • Umbrellas.
  • Laminates.

Utilising the DST lab for product testing in Denmark and the GPS showroom/training facility enables GPS to provide solutions to customers looking for DST transfer applications onto unusual substrates.

GPS provides in house training or training on site to suit customers’ needs.
