Aeoon marks 10th anniversary with print competition

Mario Basic with Denise Grimm of Aeoon

Aeoon turns 10 in 2021 and to celebrate the Austrian company held a design competition for student and trainee graphic professionals.

More than 140 entries from all regions of Austria were received and the results were incredible.

Denise Grimm, COO, said: “A very large number of high-quality entries were submitted. There was a lot of originality among the submitted artworks, which made it all the more difficult for the jury to make a decision.”

The five-member jury selected a design called ‘Transience’ by 16-year-old Mario Basic, a student of HTL Bau and Design in Innsbruck, as the winning piece.

The jury commented: “There is a lot of work in Mario’s design, and you can see his keen sense of colour and detail. Bright, vibrant colours, dark areas, tone on tone colour gradients and all this in a photorealistic drawing technique created on the drawing board. A design that incorporates all the criteria that proves the print quality of our DTG printers.”

As the winner, Mr Basic was awarded with a cheque for €500 and will also begin an internship at Aeoon.

Second place went to David Huemer with ‘Don’t touch me’, from HTL Bau und Design in Linz. While, Aaron Hotter from the local HTL Glass and Chemistry achieved third place with ‘Ancient Goddess’.

Ms Grimm added: “We thank everyone for these great submissions and are happy to see so much creative potential that exists among the trainees.”
