Balmoral Knitwear is widely known for its pullovers and cardigans for schoolwear – either from stock or made bespoke in school colours. But schools are increasingly adding knitted scarves, beanies and ski hats to their uniform ranges, according to Mike Carden of Balmoral Knitwear.
Hats and scarves can be made to order in the same yarns and shades as school uniform pullovers and cardigans for a minimum, usually, of just 24 items.
Balmoral can produce beanies and ski hats in school colours, with stripes around the hat or in a turn-up, and with a fleece lining if required. The company can also add a pom-pom knitted in the same shades or even a faux-fur version.
Scarves can be knitted with school/ house/ sports colours in stripes either across the scarf or the length of the scarf. Again, the minimum is usually just 24.
The lead-time is generally four to five weeks, so to bring them in before the weather really gets cold.
