Vastex releases new pin registration system for side clamp presses

VRS Pin Registration System
VRS Pin Registration System

A new Vastex VRS Pin Registration System for side clamp screen printing presses allows film positives to be registered onto screens off-press, and each screen to then be aligned in register on-press in about two and a half minutes.

The system consists of a free-standing 53x66cm pin board with two precision positioning pins and layout graph with guidelines, and a separate standard pallet jig that fits on pallets with side clamps.  Both components are constructed of durable, heavy-gauge steel with anti-rust treatment.

The VRS system allows an operator to align all film positives in registration on the pin board, and maintain that registration when transferring positives onto each printing screen held in position against rubber screen stops.

The pin board indicates standard and oversized shirt outlines, pocket placement, distance from neckline, and the central 30cm sweet spot where most T shirt art is placed.

Once screens are exposed, the pallet jig is secured to one pallet of the press, allowing each screen to be held against stops before being secured to the side clamp of each respective print head, maintaining screen-to-screen registration.

According to the company, the system eliminates virtually all of the trial-and-error time associated with registering screens on press, minimising set-up time and increasing accuracy, especially on multi-colour jobs.
