Promotional product companies have until Friday, April 20 to enter the PSI Sustainability Awards, the industry’s only sustainability prize.
For the awards’ premier in 2016 only 46 companies participated, rising to 70 three years later. Most recently, a total of 374 certificates were presented as proof of the environmental, economic and social character of companies, products and campaigns.
Step 1: The application
Manufacturers, importers, distributors, advertising agencies, users and designers are eligible to participate in the PSI Sustainability Awards. A PSI membership is not required. They can submit products, campaigns, certified companies and corporate in-house initiatives. A total of eight categories are available to choose from: Economic Excellence, Environmental Excellence, Social Excellence, Environment Initiative, Social Initiative, Sustainable Product, Sustainable Campaign and Sustainable Company of the Year 2018.
Step 2: The evaluation Phase
Submissions are evaluated using a two-part system. All certificates are automatically assigned a score using a predefined scoring system posted online. The more demanding the profile of a certificate, the higher the score. In the categories Environment Initiative, Social Initiative, Sustainable Product and Sustainable Campaign, a jury consisting of officials from the industry, trade publications and professional associations representing the promotional products sector and from the PSI also evaluates the submissions.
Step 3: Presentation of the winners
The formal awards ceremony will take place at the Kurhaus in Wiesbaden on 7 September 2018. Plus, all winners will be presented to a broader group of trade professionals at PSI 2019.

PSI Sustainability Awards applications must be submitted online. The participation deadline is Friday, April 20. Participation fees start at €190 for PSI members and €380 for non-members.
