Stellar show delivered Sign & Digital UK’s 30th year

This year saw Sign & Digital UK, the exhibition for the sign making, display solutions and digital printing industry celebrate its 30th anniversary. The show took place in Halls 17 & 18 at the NEC in Birmingham from March 28 to 30.

Organisers of Sign & Digital UK say a stellar show was delivered in its 30th anniversary year. A total of 5,350 visitors enjoyed a whole host of new product launches and show features during the three-day event.

With 80% of visitors to the show involved in their company’s buying decision and 81% holding a senior director or managerial position, the exhibition attracted a high quality of visitor across all three days of the show. Among the visitors were representatives from well-known companies such as Buxton Press, Carphone Warehouse, Debenhams, Delta Group, Fenwick, Gardners, Graham & Brown, Hollywood Monster, Image Co., JD Sports, Kall Kwik, Macro Art, Manchester Airport, Media Co., Next, Royal Bank of Scotland, Screwfix, Signarama, and Travis Perkins.

Another fantastic year

Popular show attractions

The 2017 seminar lineup was another popular show attraction, with more than 35 daily seminars and workshops taking place across six theatres.

New for this year was the launch of the Creative Theatre, featuring case studies, content and learning developed specifically for professionals in the graphics, branding and display industries.

Also new in 2017 was the Sign Trade Services Pavilion – a one-stop shop for essential sign making tools and equipment. The Pavilion proved popular with visitors and showcased suppliers offering smaller every day sign making items.

New product launches

The show once again featured a host of exclusive product launches and live demonstrations, including the worldwide launch of Inktec’s new Jetrix LXi8 production printer. Hybrid hosted the UK and Irish debut of the new Mimaki JFX200­2531 LED UV flatbed printer. CMYUK also made a number of new business announcements, including its appointment as the strategic UK channel for Esko, and the launch of its revolutionary new customer finance reward scheme.

Other brands launching new equipment onsite included Soyang Europe, Your Print Partner, Castle Tapes Holding, AG/CAD & DYSS, Colourgen, Canon, Doro Tape, Josero, Supreme Glow Printing Solutions, NovaDura Limited, Oshino LED Lighting, and Spandex.

Exhibitor Joey Kim, managing director of InkTec Europe, said: “Sign & Digital is a key part of InkTec’s calendar as it gives us the opportunity to showcase our very latest products, such as the JETRIX LXi8 which had its worldwide debut at this year’s event. As always 2017 saw us networking with existing clients and meeting lots of new contacts for both our printers and consumables. We were especially proud to be here this year, as it also formed part of our celebrations of 25 years since InkTec first started.”

Sign & Digital UK returns to the NEC, Birmingham from Tuesday, April 24 to Thursday, April 26, 2018 and is free to attend for visitors.
