Sawgrass attains G7 Master Qualification

Sawgrass has earned G7 Master Qualification from Idealliance, a not-for-profit industry group dedicated to guiding print production best practices, specifications, and standards, worldwide.

G7 is a global standardised methodology for matching colour and producing consistent print quality on various media. Currently applied through Sawgrass’ colour profile for the Sawgrass VJ 628 Inkjet Printer using SubliJet-HD inks, these standards ensure a common visual appearance of images that are sublimated on different types of substrates.

Darcy Mauro, president, said: “This qualification is a testament to how Sawgrass in constantly innovating and empowering creative entrepreneurs to deliver images and products that people simply love.

“With this qualification, our customers can expect colour consistency from proof to print, across substrates and with repeatable vivid colours when using our colour profiles for the VJ 628 printer. By ensuring that artwork will print and press as expected, we are helping customers reduce waste and lost time trying to attain the right colours.”

Sawgrass is one of only a few dye sublimation companies in the world to achieve G7 Master Qualification. The company has successfully completed training, examination and qualification process of its print production processes, validating its capabilities to the highest level of global industry standards and specifications.

G7 standards are currently applied through the Virtuoso 25in 8-Colour HD Product Decorating System, featuring Sawgrass’ VJ 628 printer and family of SubliJet-HD ink sets. These sets include Dual CMYK, Pro Photo, ProPhoto XF and Flex formulations.

At a time when customer expectations for print and colour quality have never been higher, Sawgrass’ G7 Master Qualification offers a new level of assurance and predictability for colours and image quality. Colours are not only vivid, but consistent print after print from substrate to substrate. This reliability greatly reduces waste in trying to match colours and increases the time sublimators spend designing, printing and pressing, making their production process more efficient and profitable.

Steve Bonoff of Idealliance said: “We applaud Sawgrass for utilising the G7 Master Program to assure consistency and quality in their proofing, brand colour management and print processes.

“G7 Master Qualification demonstrates a level of control and expertise that places Sawgrass at the top of their field. We applaud their leadership, commitment and support of the G7 Master Qualification Program.”
