Giving customers the right tools to develop their business is key, according to the UK’s largest printwear distributor, Ralawise. DEBBIE EALES chats to Ralawise Marketing Services Manager FRAZER HYNES on the distributor’s innovative marketing tools stand at Printwear & Promotion Live.
With some 2,700 products on offer, and more than five million items in stock, Ralawise rightfully owns the crown as the UK’s biggest printwear and consumables distributor.
But being a distributor means more than having a glossy catalogue these days. Ralawise is extremely switched on when it comes to helping customers to grow their businesses and is giving them all the tools that they need.
In fact, this year, Ralawise had not one, but two stands at Printwear & Promotion Live – the all white “Rala-Tech” stand – a futuristic-looking innovation and marketing suite – and the “Rala-Style” stand showcasing garments and consumables with some of the newest brands including Dare 2b, Spalding, Musto, Lotto Tennis, Just Sub and Boxercraft.
The marketing suite, with its dedicated customer development team, attracted a large number of visitors wanting to find out about the latest Ralawise tools, including a mobile website for ordering on the move, those all-important social networking sites plus videos on Ralawise TV which can be found on YouTube.
The new mobile website, m.ralawise.com, has been designed for customers who are constantly on the move. The simple to install, easy to use mobile website leads the way within the industry, with no scanning required. Customers can log in and check live stock and prices, placing orders on the move.
The Ralawise mobile website can be saved down as an app and is compatible on all Smart phones, iPhone, Blackberry, Android OS, Windows OS and many more.
Ralawise Marketing Services Manager, Frazer Hynes, told me: “As a distributor, it’s important that we give our customers all the tools and support they require. We follow an innovative approach in investing in our customers’ success.”
Continues Frazer: “We have been demonstrating the social media side of our business and the benefits of this. Social media works very well for us. It’s the latest trend in terms of communicating with our customers.

“Smart phones are now an everyday part of business and everybody has access to Facebook and Twitter. It’s not going to be a passing phase, it’s here to stay.”
Social media has moved from personal use to becoming a legitimate business tool, according to Frazer. “We focus on five elements: choice, support, service, stock and innovation,” he adds.
“Innovation is key, we have to move with the times. Social media is an area where we can communicate with our customers instantly, so it’s a way of getting our message across.
“We’re also offering our customers weblinks, giving them the opportunity to show all 2,700 Ralawise products on their own websites, allowing them to promote the biggest choice in the industry with 80 brands and over 5 million items available to them on a next day service.”
As a regular exhibitor at Printwear & Promotion Live, customers visit the Ralawise stand looking for ideas and inspiration.
