UKL boss Tracy stepping down after 12 years
Published:  05 January, 2011

As reported briefly in our January issue, Tracy Richards has announced that she will be leaving PenCarrieUKL at the end of February.

Tracy spent 12 years as managing director of the Swindon-based UKL Distribution Ltd, before becoming joint managing director, with Tony Lock, following the company’s merger to become PenCarrieUKL in January.

Tracy feels that now is a good time for her to move on to new challenges and opportunities.

“I have really enjoyed my time in this industry and, most satisfying of all, I am proud of what we have achieved over the years. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with you all and I’m very proud of how we have worked through the recent changes with such a positive attitude.

“Customer service has always been at the heart of my focus during my time here, and our relationship with all of our suppliers has also been of great importance. Keep up the good work and keep the Swindon flag flying for ‘great’ customer service!

“The good news is that you won’t be rid of me that quickly,” she continues. “My plans are to help expand my husband’s equestrian business and one of the areas will be personalised clothing. He has been pestering me for some time to come and help him in his growing business, and I am sure our two children will also appreciate a little more of our time.

“We have a lot of hard work in front of us with the merger in the short term and I’m sure we can count on your continued support. I am confident that I shall leave the staff and customers in good hands and I look forward to being a PenCarrieUKL customer for a change!

“Whilst I will naturally be sad to leave the business at the end of February, the motto ‘together we are stronger’ says it all for me and I know the new business will continue the tremendous traditions of these two great companies.”

Tony Lock, Managing Director of PenCarrieUKL, said: “It has been a privilege to work alongside Tracy for the last 9 months, and I have benefited greatly from her tremendous experience in the industry and her commitment to the business. There is a great team spirit in Swindon and the enthusiasm for the coming merger is very pleasing.

“I am delighted that Tracy will be staying with us until the beginning of March as there is still a lot to be done to ensure the smooth transition of the merger and I wish her every success in the future.”
