The Beechfield B10b Junior Original 5 Panel Cap is the quintessential modern school cap and demand for this classic style is greater than ever, reports the brand. According to Roger McHugh, Beechfield’s managing director, there are four main reasons for the product’s enduring appeal with school wear suppliers.
“Firstly, we are offering the B10b in a palette of 15 colours that covers just about every school colour scheme. What’s more, the colours are meticulously matched to the school wear palettes from the main apparel brands,” he comments. “Secondly, the cap uses the same 5-panel design as we use on our adults’ B10. By removing the front seam, we have created a huge area for school badges and crests, or school sports team names and logos, and made the B10 incredibly quick and easy to decorate. Then there is the fact that the B10b is made to the same high quality standard as all Beechfield products and as such offers unsurpassed value for money in this area of the market.”
Roger adds that, most important of all, kids love wearing the cap. “That’s half the battle: designing a simple, affordable cap that children want to wear. If the kids like the cap, their parents will buy it,” he says, adding that this observation is supported by the B10b’s upward sales curve over many years.
The cap is made from 100% cotton twill, features six rows of decorative stitching on the peak, and a self-fabric button on the crown. A Beechfield Rip-Strip size adjuster ensures a comfortable fit for all for all.
Beechfield’s B11b Junior Legionnaire Style Cap is also popular with schools. Made from the same 100% cotton twill fabric as the B10b, the 6-panel cap features the classic Legionnaires-style fabric screen to the sides and back. This shades the neck, ears and side of the face from the potentially damaging effects of strong sunlight. Other features include a self-fabric button on the crown, decorative stitching to the peak and elasticated size adjustment. For 2010, Beechfield has grown the B11b’s colour palette from five to nine colours, with the introduction of four more key school wear colour choices: Burgundy, Kelly Green, Sky Blue and Yellow. “Parents like the B11b because it doubles up as a practical hat for the beach and other leisure activities on particularly sunny days,” says Roger McHugh.
Beechfield’s B45b Junior Knitted Hat comes into its own in colder weather. A children’s version of the successful adults’ B45 Knitted Hat, it is made from 100% soft-feel, ribbed acrylic, for comfort and warmth. The cap has a sporty image, which makes it a popular choice not just for school uniforms, but also with school sports clubs and teams for outdoor training sessions in the cold. The wide turn up provides plenty of space for embroidery or badges and the B45b comes in four key school colours.
“No modern school uniform is complete without a cap or hat. As well as protecting against sunburn in summer, and the cold during the winter, school headwear also makes children easier to spot, increasing their safety and security,” Roger McHugh adds.
