PenCarrie believes that motorsport will be an even bigger earner than usual for UK garment decorators in 2010.
Andrea Charteris, PenCarrie’s customer services manager explains: “Now that Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton are both driving for McLaren, the British are going to be more interested than ever in Formula One.”
PenCarrie’s brochure is a good place to start when looking for clothing and accessories appropriate to the sector. Contrast colour tops and jackets from teamwear brands such as Kustom Kit Gamegear, Finden+Hales and Tombo Teamwear are all ideal. Caps will be in demand in their own right but can also provide valuable add-on sales and Beechfield Headgear has some styles that are especially relevant. Hand-held flags, such as those from Tour Collection, are also likely to be in demand.
Formula Racing from Kustom Kit Gamegear has added to its cameo clothing collection and PenCarrie is stocking the new K516 Estoril T-Shirt and new K956 Le Mans Soft Shell Jacket. Other styles in the Formula Racing range also available from PenCarrie include K186 Short Sleeve Silverstone Shirt; K611 Monaco Polo Shirt and K955 Monza Jacket.
From the Finden+Hales teamwear range, jackets such as the LV601 Team Jacket for men and LV621 Ladies Team Soft Shell Jacket are also good choices. These are available in red with black contrast, a colourway much favoured by motorsport enthusiasts.
Tombo Teamwear’s TL96 Performance Jacket, in black with contrast red side panels, is another popular pick. A number of jacket styles from Result provide more options. These include RS118 Ice Fell Hooded Soft Shell Jacket, which is windproof, rain resistant and breathable.
When it comes to caps, the new Grand Prix Cap from Beechfield is an obvious choice; and the brand’s Morf Suprafleece is decidedly on-trend for a sector that is highly fashion-aware, The BB159 Grand Prix Cap has a pre-embroidered chequer design flowing from its peak onto the side of the cap.
Three colourways are available: classic red or white, both with black chequer contrast; or black with white chequer detail.
Beechfield’s Morf Suprafleece can be worn in many ways including as a scrunch-style neck warmer or as a snood (great for style-conscious spectators toughing it out in the cold). Appropriately (as it will often cover the mouth and nose) it has Ag+ Silver Protection anti-bacterial treatment. Coded BB920, it comes in four colours including classic red; and black.
Hand-held flags for spectators to wave enthusiastically offer another good source of income for decorators. If Jensen Button and Lewis Hamilton are driving, then the Tour Collection’s TR82 Country Hand-Held Flag in the Union Jack colourway is likely to be most in demand.
The flags of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales are also available.
