Bespoke garment design needn't be complicated. That's the message from Russell Solutions, which has revamped its bespoke offering to simplify the service and make it more user-friendly. Debbie Eales spoke to Russell Solutions' commercial manager, Jane Saba, about the new offering.
This year Russell Solutions has undergone some exciting new developments. The new, unbranded website, e-textile.com allows customers (both resellers and end customers) to find the bespoke garment they want easily and simply. And to support this website, they have developed an unbranded brochure and unbranded price lists for resellers to use with their customers.
So far, the feedback has been extremely positive.
The new website, e-textile.com is all about simplicity, hence the concept of the new service and the title of the new brochure: Simply colour, simply change, simply design.
Users can select from a wide range of pre-designed styles from a variety of garment categories, from polos and tees to rugby shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jackets, gilets and fleece.
These garments can then be coloured using a host of colour options/combinations or changed, selecting from three different collar, sleeve or hem options. And if a customer wants to design their own style from scratch then they can opt for a "simply design me" feature that offers a full design option as per Russell Solutions' previous software.
"With our previous offering," said Jane, "we soon discovered that we had provided the user with too many choices to select from which was welcomed by those with a creative background, but for many, it was frustrating and too time consuming.
"Customers wanted an easier, quicker solution to their business needs and our aim was therefore to create a website that attracts customers from any number of backgrounds and who don't have to have experience of the garment industry.
"We offer a range of pre-designed styles which the customer can choose from and then simply colour and/or simply change the collar, sleeve or hem.
"If they want to get more creative, they have the choice of clicking through to simply design me which opens up many more options on garment feature to select from."
An additional benefit to this new website is that it is unbranded and any reseller can get a unique URL so that the e-textile.com website becomes their own, with their own company logo.
The site has no mention of Russell Solutions and the end customer only deals with the reseller.
The brochure and price lists also follow this theme. Being completely unbranded but with space for a reseller's brand stamp or contact details, it supports the website and allows a customers to glance at pre-designed styles in the brochure as well as online.
Adds Jane: "With the new price lists both as hard copies and online, the customer can instantly get a price without having to pick up a phone. You can visit the site, look around, pick a style and colour and even bring your company logos in to see what the garment looks like when branded. In five minutes you can design a garment and get a price and lead time."
Other benefits include personalised labelling, decoration, Pantone matching and availability of oversizes.
They also have minimum orders starting from as low as 25 pieces (with the exception of outdoor fleece and soft shell that have a minimum of 250 pieces) and delivery is from five weeks for orders with a six day rapid sampling.
With manufacturing centres in Europe and Asia, customers can choose from a smaller order needed quickly, to a more cost effective large order from Asia.
