Mantis World work closely with customers to give them the greatest possible choice to meet their specific needs. Most customers can find what they want from stock.
But now customers looking for something more specific can use the new Design-It-Yourself service. This could be anything from adding your own label to a stock garment to producing an existing style in a different colour. For more complicated orders, the service could include designing a garment from scratch with the in-house design team, adding all-over print, or individual packing with customised kimbals and barcodes.
One of the easiest (and cheapest) adaptations is to add your own branded label, which is something Mantis can provide using their stock collection, with the added advantage of low minimums and very quick turn-around.
Mantis World have introduced unbranded, woven neck labels with ‘size only' information to all new styles in the stock collection since 2008.
These are identified by the ‘No Logo' icon in the Quick Product Reference section of the 2009 Mantis World brochure.
The idea of a bespoke service means that the choices are endless, so each order is completely different from the next. Most recently Mantis World have produced everything from plain and embellished standard T shirts, polos and sweats, to babywear and organic clothing, to maternity wear and even branded mosquito nets.
When timelines are tight, Mantis World can work quickly. For example, they recently produced 3,000 women's distressed finish T shirts dyed to the customer's chosen pantone shade in nine days from order confirmation to delivery.
Mantis World works closely with retail brands, merchandise companies, printers and embroiderers to offer something unique.
The Mantis World collection follows a strict code of conduct whether this relates to ethical or environmental issues. And DIY production is no different. Environmentally sensitive and ethically sound, products are backed up by recognised certifications such as the Oeko-Tex 100 Class 1 standard ensuring that no harmful chemicals are used in the production of our garments, BSCI protecting workers rights, and the GOTS, Eco Cert and Bio Inspecta certificates for organic cotton production.
Here are some things to remember when you're thinking about creating your own masterpiece.
Quantity - Minimum order per style, colour and size is generally 150 pieces. Minimum quantities of special colours will vary according to the style, but on average this is approximately 500 pieces of men's T shirts or the equivalent of one dye lot.
Lead time - Working with the stock fabric range, as soon as your order is confirmed and approved, it could be delivered in as little as four weeks.
Labelling - You can either supply your own labels or Mantis World can manufacture your labels from artwork and insert them during production.
Transit Times - You can choose from sea freight, air freight or road transport where available. It's about six weeks by sea, one week by air and about 10 days by road. The company tries to use sea freight and road transport to minimize its carbon footprint.
The company also offers: screen printing, embroidery, appliqué, kimball and swing tags, label supply and relabelling, bagging and barcode labelling. It can also print on polybags and produce barcodes for you.
