"The range available is a reflection of just how sophisticated the garment decoration industry has become," said Andrea Charteris, the company's customer services manager.  

"All the designs focus strongly on the key elements of fabric, fit, fashion and colour. From leisurewear to corporatewear, from summer's skinny tops to all-weather jackets, women will find promotional clothing that makes them feel and look their best."

The greatest variety of ladies' styles is to be found in t-shirts, with all the top brands such as Jerzees Colours, Fruit of the Loom, Skinnifit, Hanes and Gildan offering numerous designs. 

Different necklines, sleeve style, body length and fit as well as fabric content and colour choices all contribute to the garments' individuality. Options include plain crew neck, v neck, and scoop neck tees; tees with button plackets, wrapover fronts, and hoods; tees with long sleeves, short sleeves, capped sleeves or simply vests or tank top styles. 

"This year's new t-shirt styles for women are generally lighter in weight and longer in length to allow fashionable layering of clothes," notes Andrea. "There is also a clear trend towards ultra-soft fabrics."  

She highlights Fruit of the Loom's SS87 Lady Fit Lightweight T-Shirt and SS88 Lady Fit Lightweight Hooded T-Shirt, both made in a soft and extra lightweight 100% cotton fabric. Both also have shaped side seams for a contemporary fit. Fruit of the Loom's Lady Fit Organic Cotton T-Shirt, unbleached and undyed for a natural finish, is also new this year. Okarma's OK11 Ladies Organic Premium Fitted T-Shirt is also available from PenCarrie and comes in a range of six colours as well as natural, with all dyestuffs Oekotex and GOTS approved.

Skinnifit's new ‘Touch' Long Line ladies t-shirts are equally on-trend. Made from 100% viscose, all three tops are fashionably long for wearing on the hips. 

SK260 ‘Touch' Long Line Long Sleeve T-Shirt has a gentle scoop neck; SK261 is a short sleeve style with a round scoop neck; and SK262 ‘Touch' Cuffed Vest is sleeveless and slinky. 

Hanes is another major brand to come up with some delightful tees for women. The five tops in the new TasTy collection are made in a super soft, silky feeling 95% cotton/5% elastane fabric; there is no neck label to irritate the skin; and the fit is flatteringly figure hugging. 

Feminine

Polo shirts for women are also plentiful. Henbury's new H123 Ladies Puff Sleeve Polo Shirt is feminine and different. Also new from Henbury is the H306 Ladies Stretch Pique Polo Shirt in 96% cotton with 4% elastane.

Skinnifit meanwhile have given a stand up ribbed collar to their new SK47 Club Ladies Pique Polo Shirt.

For fashionistas, Wombat is the brand to go for and three of their new styles for 2009 are ideal for summer.  The WB149 Girls Shelley Beach Vest, with its racer back and six button placket, is made from a soft feel 100% Fairtrade certified cotton jersey. 

The WB358 Girls Adventure Zipper is a long sleeved, pigment dyed, semi-fitted zip-neck sweat in a 100% cotton loop back fabric that is also soft to touch; the curved side panels in reversed loop back fabric give the garment cult appeal. 

Another style, WB957 Girls Casual Cords are fitted in shape with a slight boot cut. Pockets carry lots of fashion detail; the flattering 5cm deep waistband has belt loops; and the V shape back yoke gives an extra neat fit.

Another zany newcomer is the JH055 Girlie Zoodie from AWDis.  This zip-through hoodie with front pouch pockets has clever detailing such as the small hidden opening in the front pocket for an earphone cord to pass through. 

Nine colour choices include hot pink and true violet.  Skinnifit also has new styles to add to the sweats and hoodies available for women.  Their new SK55 Ladies Button Top Sweatshirt is a slim fitting, drop shoulder style with an unusual, soft and ribbed, high neck collar and three button placket. 

Skinnifit's SK56 Ladies Premium Hoodie matches up well to styles available on the high street: the hood is double layered and design touches include the deep rib side panels and the thumbholes in the cuffs.

Corporate clothing forms another important category of women's wear. 

As Andrea Charteris points out: "Women look for bust and back darts in tailored shirts, and often like open collars. They want the option of ¾ length or cap sleeves in addition to long and short sleeve choices. 

"Many will choose a wrap-around style or a top with a side zip (rather than a button through style) depending on what role they perform at work and what will be most comfortable and give the best fit." 

Kustom Kit and Russell Collection both provide some excellent ladies' corporatewear options. Seven tops from Kustom Kit fill the niche for design-based, elegantly casual clothing.  Amongst new styles for this year are the K756 Ladies Raglan Sleeve Wide V Neck Corporate Top (a short sleeve style with a deep and wide crossover V) and the K758 Ladies Long Sleeve Deep Round Neck Corporate Top (a long sleeve style with the interesting finishing touch of two epaulettes at the front neck fastened with matching buttons).  

Russell Collection's shirts for women, generally more traditional in style, include the new non-iron and casual shirt collections.  A total of six new styles have been introduced for this year.  Kustom Kit's corporate tops and the many styles from Russell Collection all feature in the easy-to-find shirts section of PenCarrie's brochure.
