A lot of people got very excited and England won back the Ashes. Add to that the hoop-la over Freddy's retirement and there was plenty of material for the media to feast on. Only one problem: it was poor cricket. I can't remember an Ashes series featuring so few top class players nor so many sub-standard individual performances. The question is, does it matter?
