Pro-Ad Ltd, the North East-based promotional merchandise company, is celebrating 25 successful years in business.
Md Carlo Nardini, who established the company in 1982, said it had seen many changes over the years.
“While many business transactions today are done over the phone or online, in Pro-Ad’s early days we provided this service by face to face meetings, building up a strong relationship with clients and getting to the heart of their requirements and this is still an integral part of building relationships with our customers,” he said.
Pro-Ad is known for its catalogue covers, having previously used a series of beach themes, but the first catalogue wasn’t brought out until 1990. Since then Pro-Ad has gone from strength to strength, something Nardini puts down to his experience of managing Northumberland County under 18s rugby team.
“The playing and coaching of rugby has played a large part of my life and the philosophies are very similar to business: we are only as strong as our weakest link,” he said.
Pro-Ad is now based in Morpeth, having previously had two offices in Newcastle’s city centre, and is a recognised Investor in People.
The company has recently appointed a new marketing graduate and Nardini’s eldest son Loren, a 25 year-old law graduate, has taken up the position of business development manager.
Pro-Ad sees technology as the future and has invested heavily in a new computer system, amongst other things, to help the company achieve its goal of eventually becoming a paperless office.
A new website has also been launched to offer customers more choice, which is being used as a platform to run special offers throughout Pro-Ad’s 25th year and showcase some of the products sourced from worldwide suppliers.
