New ethical T-shirts in the limelight
Published:  01 June, 2007

Epona's new vivid colours

Reflecting this season’s acid brights trend, Epona has introduced a selection of vivid colours to its existing range.

New offerings for men and women include Azzuri blue, Mars red, Limelight yellow and Military green.

Epona also has an eye-catching Kelly green and Lipstick pink for women, plus classic black, white and navy.

Epona’s T-shirts come in a fashion cut for women and stylish fit for men. They are made with super-soft single jersey Fairtrade and organic inconversion cotton (180gsm for men and 140gsm for women). The company also has a collection of zip and non-zip hoodies.

“These new colours take the ethical promotional T-shirt to the next stage, moving it away from the preconception that eco T-shirts only come in neutral, pale tones,” said Epona. “Each Epona garment has a subtle tag bearing the Fairtrade mark on its side; so customers know they’re making a genuine difference to small-scale producers in developing countries, without shouting about it.”

Epona said its vibrant tops were popular with the young, fashionconscious market and were ideal for this year’s summer festivals.

Its Kelly green hoodie for women recently appeared on GMTV’s Fairtrade Fashion Feature, ‘How to look great and guarantee a better deal for Third World producers’.

The market for Fairtrade certified products rose by 40% in 2005 to over £200m, claimed Epona, with 33% of shoppers now describing themselves as ‘conscientious consumers’. The ethical clothing industry is now worth over £43m.
