Tombo, a brand with a broad range of general sportswear, also provides professional standard football kit. Mesh panelling, which keeps players cool, features in a number of items including the TL04 Short Sleeve Performance Football Shirt and TL32 Performance Football Shorts. The shirt is distinctive, with v-neck and raglan sleeves highlighted by contrast colour. A new general sportswear entrant to the promotional clothing arena is Canterbury, internationally known in rugby circles. Base layers keep the wearer either warm or cool and they can be worn for a variety of sporting activities from running to mountaineering. “The wearing of base layers is a major new trend, but all Canterbury styles are selling well, not just the base layers,” says Andrea Charteris, customer services manager at PenCarrie. She cites the Stadium Pants (CN90) as being another key seller. “They are ideal for any sport and have the added feature of thigh high side leg zips so taking them off over muddy boots or spiked shoes is easy.”
