For many years women had to suffer the indignity of the unisex polo and unisex T shirt, as garments specifically designed for them were still considered a niche market, says UK Leisurewear.
However, one of the brands that helped to change that was Bella – a brand designed specifically for women for the imprint and retail industries. Last year UK Leisurewear introduced the Bella label to its stable of brands.
“Bella is dedicated to women’s apparel and has over 10 years of experience in manufacturing women's clothing for the leading retailers in the world,” says UKL.
In producing for top retailers Bella has had to meet the highest and most stringent of quality standards and only use the softest yarns, the highest standards of sewing construction, the longest wearability and the best fit, says UKL.
Each Bella fabric is created from a super soft combed ring-spun cotton. For all of the basic styles, the largest yarn gauge used is 30 single, where the industry standard is a much thicker 18 single. This achieves a very tight knit and a smooth surface, perfect for all types of embellishments.
The range of garments moves from basic T-shirt styles like the BA1001 that comes in 21 colours, through to sheer styles like the BA8505, perfect for layering or creating ‘distressed’ print effects. There is a variety of vest and camisole styles to choose from, including this year’s new BA8770 Raceback vest as well as camisole tops with a built in ‘shelf’ and thongs and ‘hot shorts’ to compliment.
Another leader in fashionable women’s apparel is Mantis. Mantis was one of the first UK brands to offer a contoured or skinny-fit product with its classic M01 Skinny T; complimented by its unbleached organic counterpart the M01 TLC. Further additions to the Mantis range include the M56 Kimono Wrap Top, featuring a contrasting satin trim, and the M57 Mandarin Collar Top.
Rivermead presents ladies with a choice of outstanding polo shirts, which are simple yet stylish, as well as some contemporary designs such as the Ladies Contrast Collar Pique Polo (RM014). To enhance the offering, Rivermead includes a stylish short sleeve blouse, perfect for the corporate wear sector.
Available in white, light blue or black, sizes 8- 20 there is something to suit everyone. The 80% Polyester, 20% Viscose blend makes the blouses easy to care for with minimal ironing required. Rivermead is exclusive to UKL.
Kustom Kit has always offered stylish menswear and could be credited with starting the huge rise in sales of men’s oxford shirts a few years back, says UK Leisurewear. T his year they have turned their eye to fashionable corporate apparel for women. Made in a flattering cotton and elsastane blend, the new range offers an excellent alternative to a more traditional blouse. Contour cut, these jersey-based garments feature eye-catching details such as Mouret or keyhole necklines and smart V-necks with Mandarin collars.
2007 has also seen Jerzees Colours introduce its Vintage range of womenswear. The garments are all pigment dyed and enzyme washed to give a wonderful feel, and pre-distressed look. Flattering styles are available in either traditional jersey fabrics or sweats manufactured from popular French Terry.
Ayers Rock, also exclusively distributed by UK Leisurewear, offers fashion wear for ladies. The brand is renowned for providing high quality garments at competitive prices, offering value for money. The range includes T-Shirts, polos, blouses and skirts.
