Creativity is evolving

The winning sunflower design

A Peterborough-based company has won a regional award in the Fruit of the Loom Creative Challenge Award for its farmyard scene printed and embroidered T-shirt.

Evolve Branding Ltd, of North Bretton, took the award for the UK and Ireland. Spanish company Serigrafia Pikasso scooped the first prize of business equipment to the value of 10,000 euros for its sunflower T-shirt entry.

Evolve Branding’s entry comprised a printed farmyard scene overlaid with a detailed embroidery of an owl, on a black/heather grey Fruit of the Loom Layered T-shirt.

“Evolve Branding produced a textbook example of how to combine print and embroidery to truly stunning effect: the design and execution were of the highest standard,” said Alison Woodvine, European brand manager.

Serigrafia Pikasso produced a scorched and printed entry, layering a natural colour Fruit of the Loom T-shirt over a sunflower (yellow) T-shirt, then burning through areas of the natural shirt to reveal the heavily scorched sunflower shirt below. A metallic gold print applied to the visible chest area of the sunflower T-shirt completed the decoration.

“The garment embodies the ethos of the Creative Challenge, and brilliantly illustrates the artistic potential of garment decoration in its broadest sense,” said Woodvine.
