The Lady Fit Polo |
Fruit of the Loom says its Slim Fit Polo enhances the traditional golf shirt style with a modern, sporty silhouette, and stretchy, comfort-driven fabric.
The new polo boasts a fitted masculine cut that is influenced by developments at the fashionable end of the retail golfwear market. It is made from 97% cotton/3% elastane pique fabric (210/220 gm/m2) and features styling details such as the narrow, open, two-button placket.
“The new Slim Fit Polo provides a fashionable option for customers who are looking beyond the established golf shirt designs, but are reluctant to pay the large premium for similar products from the major golf equipment brands,” says Alison Woodvine, European Brand Manager. “We expect this new style to have special appeal for younger and more athletic players, who wish to dress fashionably, whilst staying true to golf’s heritage.”
Similarly, with its self-fabric collar, buttonless placket, short capped sleeves and 100% cotton 1x1 rib fabric, the new Lady-Fit Rib Polo offers a fashionable alternative for those who prefer a younger, more relaxed image, she adds.
Of Fruit of the Loom’s established styles, the Heavy Polo and Tipped Polo are proven golf shirt choices, says the company.
The Heavy Polo is a classic golf shirt for those who value a more traditional look. Made from heavyweight 100% combed ringspun cotton, (230/240 gm/m2), it has a discreet textured stripe detail to the flat knit collar, and fashionable open cuffs. The Tipped Polo, meanwhile, is made in a lighter weight 100% combed ringspun cotton fabric, (170/180 gm/m2) and features a contemporary single stripe tipping to the collar and cuffs.
For women, the Lady-Fit Polo complements the new men’s Slim Fit Polo, making it ideal for promotions targeting male and female golfers. It is made in the same heavyweight cotton/elastane fabric, has shaped side seams, and features an equally flattering cut.
In addition to golf shirts, Fruit of the Loom supplies a full range of breathable men and women’s Microfleece jackets. The company says more and more players are opting for microfleece outerwear over traditional woollen sweaters, on account of the jackets’ ease of care, quick drying properties and more contemporary appearance. The garments also provide an ideal background for embroidery.
