Apparel heat transfer producer Chris Kay Ltd has developed a range of new products for 2007 following its recent merger with transfer and licensing specialist ITW Graphics.
The Ireland-based company, which supplies the fashion, sport and leisurewear industries, became a member of ITW Graphics – an inclusive gateway for those who source the branding, labelling and decoration of goods such as apparel and leisure equipment – in December 2006.
Together, the companies can generate and supply high volume transfer images for industrial application to flexible or rigid substrates for any product, worldwide.
The new products, which are designed for application to rigid or flexible substrates, include:
Softweld, a new generation process for applying 3D quality flocked graphics with a velour appearance, which are free from PVC materials. They are applied using high frequency technology to give an overall soft feel and high wash resistance.
Another new generation process is Sensi – a ‘microfibre’ PVC free transfer graphics system developed to create fine flowing digital colour images and graphics for fashion apparel, high performance sportswear, outdoor wear, swimwear, lingerie and accessories.
Sensi has a soft, warm silky hand, intense colours and is extremely lightweight, says Chris Kay Ltd. The transfers are fast and simple to apply and are suitable for a wide range of fabrics, even difficult ones.
Also available is Polystretch, a versatile, low profile transfer graphics system for fashion apparel, high-performance sportswear, swimwear, lingerie and accessories. Polystretch is extremely lightweight, offers good recoverable elasticity, fastness and resistance to wear and abrasion, says the company.
Artflock is the most popular and versatile heat transfer process, says Chris Kay, whose International company claims to have innovated the technology toexclusive, patented bench mark standards.
Made from fine ‘bright’ Rayon Viscose fibres, Artflock is available in two basic types – 0.5mm Sinlge Colour and 0.3mm Multi-Colour Printable – for application by heat press to most textile fabrics.
Artflock gives a slight pile, soft velour feel and stands proud of the garment. It also offers excellent opacity and fine print detail as well as cost effectiveness, says the firm.
