“Pinnies make a practical choice when bar, café and restaurant owners set out to provide clothing for their customer-facing staff,” says Andrea Charteris, customer services manager for PenCarrie, which stocks an array of aprons for the sector. Most are made by Premier, such as the PR150 Colour Bib Apron, but there are other designs too, such as TR83 and TR84 from Tour Collection, which let staff fly the flag for the home nations when sporting events are screened at the pub. For kitchen staff, PenCarrie also stocks high quality chef attire from Premier, including jackets, trousers, skull caps and neck scarves, all unisex in design.
Premier’s PR150 Colour Bib Apron is available in 28 plain colours, while the PR110 Stripe Apron, with printed butcher’s style stripes also has a bib and is made from a slightly heavier 240gsm 100% cotton.
There is also Premier’s new PR156 80cm long Bistro Apron, the PR107 Short Bar Apron, the PR109 Open Pocket Waist Apron and the PR105 Zip Pocket Waist Apron.
High quality, hard wearing fabrics are also used for Premier’s range of chefs’ clothing, which includes the PR650 Chef’s Jacket, in 100% 210gsm pre-shrunk white cotton; and the PR651 Gourmet Chef’s Jacket, which is made from Klopman Scala cotton/polyester satin weave fabric and will withstand an 85ºC wash. To wear with either jacket, PR550 Chef’s Check Trousers have woven checks in traditional navy/white.
Pencarrie also stocks the Premier workwear collection, which includes three different styles of tabard – Pocket, Contrast Pocket and Long Pocket – that can be washed at 85ºC in an industrial laundry.
Polo shirts that can be washed at temperatures up to 60ºC include Henbury’s H400 Heavy Pique Polo Shirt (in 22 colours), Kustom Kit’s K403 Klassic Pique Polo Shirt (in 17 colours), Fruit of the Loom’s SS11 Pique Polo Shirt (in 14 colours) and the O11M Russell Workwear Pique Polo Shirt (in eight colours).
For porters, it carries Premier’s PR500 Work Trousers and PR601 Work Coat. Both are made from Klopman ‘Indestructible’ polyester/cotton twill that can be washed at 85ºC in an industrial laundry.
