The merger of Lea Sportswear Ltd and Solutions Apparel Ltd is now complete. The Bristol offices of Solutions Apparel have closed and all company operations are now based at Lea Sportswear’s headquarters at Exeter.
The company name of Lea Sportswear Ltd is retained, with Lea Sportswear’s Clive Hurley continuing as managing director. Nicci Persey, who launched Solutions Apparel two years ago, is appointed as a board director of Lea Sportswear, while Phil Hurley, formerly European sales manager of Lea Sportswear, becomes a board director.
The move brings together the following niche brands from Lea Sportswear: Front Row, Tombo, and Whytes; and from Solutions Apparel: Mumbles, Pashimi, Splashmacs and Tour Collection. The bespoke clothing division of Solutions Apparel is now also integrated within Lea Sportswear.
Commenting on the move Clive Hurley says: “Both companies are niche operators and share the same aim of producing quality goods that meet a specific promotional need. The brands complement each other and our operations have been similar (we have a similar UK distributor base and in some instances manufacturing takes place in the same factories). It makes sense to pool resources, to eliminate any duplication of effort and to move forward together. Phil and Nicci are currently streamlining operations and we will finalise their particular responsibilities in due course.”
