Business Startup Community is a multi-faceted initiative, chiefly comprising: a portal community website; a comprehensive online directory of available help; a project-based market place; and a nationwide series of regular live networking evenings. It is the latest endeavour of Bristol-based the Prysm Group with Dr. Nighat Awan OBE as its patron.

Business Startup Community was born out of the need for pre-start-ups, start-ups and businesses in their early years to find appropriate and impartial support at little or no cost. It anticipates becoming the largest membership business community in the UK. The web-based community carries a wide range of features, including ‘forum’ and one-to-one advice; a news desk; latest legislation and tax issues; real-time networking events; a ‘Speaker’s Corner’; project-based market place; legal and social enterprise advice; and a range of opportunities to debate and discuss important business issues. It also includes a Business Startup Community Guide – a 33 page, comprehensive Guide covering all you need to know about starting and growing a business. The searchable directory is a comprehensive list of agencies and organisations which can offer help, advice, services or products to assist start-up or growing businesses.
