The Brazilian textile association ABIT (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Association holds an important position in the Brazilian economy with consistent growth. This growth is linked to a constant development of equipment and personnel and in 2004, the textile market represented a turnover of US$ 25 billion with more than 30,000 companies employing a total of 1.5 million workers.
ABIT is the leading association in its country of 183 million inhabitants. In 2004, the turnover reached US$ 25 billion with a surplus of US$ 656 million.
