Wombat Clothing are proud sponsors of the last great overland challenge on the Earth's surface.
16 people are attempting to take a journey through eight countries, travelling from the lowest point on Earth, the Dead Sea, to the highest point, Everest in just four months. The team will cycle an average of 100km per day for 15 weeks with 12 members of the team attempting the climb up the challenging north east ridge of Everest.
Since leaving the Dead Sea on the 21st December, the team have cycled through a myriad of environments and cultures from Jordan to Syria, through Eastern Turkey and into Iran.
As they are all wearing Wombat garments, team member Richard Walters said, ‘Your clothing has been fantastic and members of the team use it every day. My favourite is the long sleeve T-shirt but the favourite of the team as a whole is the long sleeve cotton top. The girls in particular never seem to be out of them.’
The EVERESTMAX team is aiming to raise £15,000 for the three charities: SOS Children's Villages who give orphaned or homeless children a permanent home and a stable environment; Practical Action that aims to demonstrate and advocate the sustainable use of technology to reduce poverty in developing countries and Merlin, which exists to provide an immediate and effective response to medical emergencies throughout the world.
